Doctors Without Borders:
Text a Coffin Away

Every day 13,698 children die from malnutrition, that's 5 million children a year. To make matters worse, there is virtually no media coverage of this issue. Few people know that it only costs 15 dollars to save the life of a malnourished child.

Doctors Without Borders is an independent medical organization that delivers emergency aid, all over the world, to those who need it most. It was imperative for them to raise awareness and donations. Since children are dying at such an alarming rate, they wanted immediate reaction.

On an ordinary Monday morning, the people of Stockholm were confronted with this problem up close and personal. Children's coffins were spread all over the city with a simple message: Save a life. Text a coffin away. All people had to do was text to make a donation, which was charged to their phone bill. As the money was donated, coffins were taken away accordingly, so people could literally see that they were saving lives.

The goal for the week was reached within the first two hours of the campaign. And the subject of malnutrition was all over the media, as the story was covered by Sweden's biggest news shows. But most importantly, lives that otherwise would have been lost were saved.
